Taglines for business are a key part of marketing.   They are important in helping you create and establish your brand.   Clever taglines are memorable.

If you know the power of winning taglines, then name the following companies;  “Melts in Your Mouth, Not in Your Hand,” “Just Do It,” All the News That’s Fit to Print,” America’s Most Convenient Bank.”

Do you have a winning slogan?  If not, follow these simple strategies to create one that will make your business stand out.

Explain Your Business:  Begin by writing down the things that make your business different and unique. Simplify by describing it in a few sentences, then one sentence.

Ditch Your First Taglines:  When brainstorming you will come up with some that are good and others that are horrible.  Don’t think because it rhymes, or it’s cute that you should go with it.

Be Authentic, Creative and Brief:  Speak in an authentic voice that reflects the very essence of your business.  Incorporate elements of surprise and creativity.   Make use of action verbs that will empower your tagline, and show how your customer will benefit.    You want your tagline to stick, so make it short and catchy.

It Should Be Part of Your Business Culture:  When creating your tagline, include your employees, if applicable.  Let it resonate with them as well as with your prospects and clients.  It should define who you are, and define your organization.

Don’t be discouraged.  Clear your mind of any preconceived ideas about your product or service and be honest.  What features of your business jump out at you?  What can you promote that will make customers/clients want to patronize your business.  How can you position your business to highlight your tagline?  A successful tagline is your brand and makes your business stand out above your competition.
