From The Bedroom From The Boardroom

There are many stories to share when you work in a family business and I’d like to share a little bit about mine. I worked with my husband and two of my sons for 15 years. I loved everything about it as it was an extension of my family, only we now moved from […]

My apologies for not blogging for some time, but there have been many changes in my life. The transition of my business and personal life from Connecticut to Florida took much longer than anticipated and I want to share my story with you.

One year and a half ago we moved to Florida. Arty had […]

Follow Your Heart

My daughter Tracy blows me away.

She co-owns Yogapata with her husband Mitchel.  Their studio is a spiritual sanctuary where students come and nourish their body and their soul

She recently spoke before a women’s organization, Believe Inspire Grow on how to manifest the work you love and the relationships you desire through yoga.  Tracy told […]

Separate The Bedroom From The Boardroom

I woke with a start.  The red neon numbers glared 2:00am on my clock. Staring at the ceiling fan silently turning above my head, my mind began to wander.  We had recently started our family business and as the marketer I was driven to making Arthur D. levy & Co. a household name.  New […]

What’s Your Story?

What’s Your Story?

I recently read an article about the power of story telling for your family business.  Prior to reading it I had never given this thought.  With family businesses being the backbone of our country – (90% of all businesses are family owned) there are many stories to be told.

Is Anyone Out There?

I must have writer’s block.   I want to blog but I’m not sure what to write about and confused as to who is my audience.  While I think my past blogs have been informative, transparent, and enlightening, who in cyber space is reading them?  Is it the working women, stay at home moms, women […]

Fulfill Your Dreams

I’m not sure why I haven’t written my blog since last May, perhaps I had writer’s block, or maybe I was caught up in the lazy hazy days of summer.  Regardless of why, I am back and I am excited to continue where I left off; bringing attention to the issues that we face […]

Letting Go

A couple of months ago my granddaughter went skydiving, not only did she go skydiving, but she did it in Switzerland.  Initially, I thought how scary, how could she do something as scary as this and how could she do it so far from home?  I couldn’t believe it!  I remember her as a little girl who was afraid to go to a Halloween party, afraid to go into a dark theater.  Was this the same girl?? […]

Balance Your Work, Balance Your Life

As a parent and grandparent the news of the tragedy of Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Ct. saddens me beyond belief.  It make me think of how fragile our lives are and how much we must be aware of each and every moment — to say I love you, to give a hug, to give a kiss, to give comfort, to give joy.

We must learn from this tragedy and take time to look at how we balance our lives.  Do we balance our work/life?  Are we workaholics and work 24/7?  Do we spend quality time with those we love? […]
